EVOLUTION OF DIVE PLANET NZ

Hi Friends'
The Dive Planet NZ website has started from very humble beginnings and this is a story I would like to share with you all. I never use to be a diver; in fact the thought of going deep under the sea was somewhat of a fear as my true passion from a child was the sea from above. I spent many years growing up boating, fishing before I had the fright of my life being an encounter as I look upon it now, with a Great White shark that took an interest in my kayak while fishing in Northland NZ. Information can be found here, Paul Morris Shark attack, Documentaries and Discovery

After going through a never ending nightmare from this event I featured in a few documentaries including one called Shark Fear. This is where I confronted my fears of sharks with Phil Keoghan. Part of this Doco involved doing a Padi dive course then off to Fiji to dive with Tiger, Bull sharks’ as well as Black-tip and White-tip reef sharks. Little did I know at the time that this would change my whole perspective on the marine ecosystem sending me on a crusade with my son wanting to discover and learn more about the marine life in our oceans?

Our First Website
After diving for a few months we started a small website called Paul’s Dive Planet that was a non profit site where we posted info about our explorations. Over the next few years the site expanded with new partnerships and backing, with myself as the developer as Dive Planet NZ came to life. The Dive Planet NZ website survived by advertising options with all proceeds going back into the sites running and project days’ cleaning debris from our stunning aquatic beaches.

New Management
Now here we find ourselves with a new change of management continuing to expand, utilizing the Dive Planet NZ page rank as we enter a new phase with new discoveries to share with you all. So what are the big changes that have happened over the past year?

First off we have a great new looking site designed by our friends at Zeald, along with an on-line shopping experience that we aim to make the best in New Zealand over the years to come. Not only do we provide quality diving equipment! As we are branching out into new territories as everyone has a life outside of their sport. Currently diving and cuisine are the top sections. This is why we promote and sell the best products for these areas, like the Sealife, Intova and now Sony cameras. In fact we can supply you with all Sony products upon request.

On-line Shopping Experience
Our on-line shopping will continue to expand with hundreds of products and lines as the evolution of Dive Planet expands into Hunting, Fishing and Travel.

Continued Support
Dive Planet NZ, will continue to do it’s best to promote our loyal and featured advertisers that we value as they have been the backbone allowing us to evolve over time. We still offer FREE listings to all Dive Shops with the options of greater exposure with customized advertising pages.

Dive Charter operators we feature have now expanded over the past few months with the Seacology team coming onboard along with New Shark diving operations and Chatham’ Island Adventures. We also offer amazing Milford sound adventures cruising and diving this breathtaking part of New Zealand.

Clubs of NZ
We now offer all Dive, Fishing, Hunting, Snow clubs in New Zealand a FREE page to promote their clubs. If you wish to promote your club contact paul@diveplanet.co.nz

Conservation Research
We will continue to expand in all areas of our conservation and shark’ research areas as we believe this to be a vital attribute. Educating others about what we could lose and how to protect all we have now is close to our hearts. Dive Planet NZ values your articles and letters that you send us. The Project Sharkfin campaign is about to restart and we are currently looking for volunteers to provide research and information about the plight of all sharks’ on a global front.

Key areas of Dive And Fish
The Dive Planet NZ website is going through major transitions over the coming months and we value your support by visiting our site. Dive Club Global website is about to change under a new domain name as part of expansion plans for 2012. Shark Diving Chatham’s site is still up and running with new developments coming soon!!

More updates and exciting new sections are coming this summer so make sure you keep checking back to our main site as you will see changes every day.
Kindest Regards
Paul Morris
